Text | Just now the question of who originated the curved delivery in base-ball pitching is attracting the attention of Eastern papers, and the Philadelphia press published a long article on the subject one day last week. … Bobby Mathews was among the first to pick it up, and in an interview with a Press reporter he said he got his first lessons from Arthur Cummings, of the Mutuals, in 1873.
