Text | [The pitcher] must also deliver the ball “for the striker”–that is, pitch him such balls as he is accustomed to strike at, some batsmen liking low balls and some high. All, however, like the balls to come to them so that they can hit them with the bat within about six or eight inches of the end of it, and in order to get such balls they must stand so that the spot on the bat they want the ball to touch shall be over home base. |
