Text | This is Ned Hanlon's idea of a manager's duties: “What good are base-ball managers anyhow, except to look after the financial interests of the club? All matters relating tot he team should be left to the captain, who nine times out of ten is much the better qualified to attend to them. So far as my experience goes there is but one exception to this rule, and you have that one right here in Philadelphia. I mean Harry Wright. He has had experience, is cool headed, and can make allowances for a man. |
