Text | [Empire vs. Mutual 8/29/1859] There was a large assemblage on the grounds, and everything passed off satisfactorily, although the crowd would at times encroach upon the space allotted to the players. The only way to keep them off, is to place a rope from tree to tree, especially on the grounds of the Mutual and Hoboken Clubs. |
