Text | [reporting on the NL meeting 11/18/1886] … Day, Spalding and Young were appointed a committee to consider any probable disbandment of League clubs, with power to act. They can purchase any club's franchise and players and control the release and distribution of such players belonging to retiring club. It is believed that the committee will wind up the affairs of the Kansas City Club by purchasing their franchise and players. Kansas City delegates, however, say they will stick if they have to invoke the law. |
