Text	...hardly a game is played but that somebody among the spectators grumbles, and with good cause, because the Cincinnatis are not properly coached. Ferguson has a man near first and one near third all the time, whether a man is on base or not. In one inning Wednesday Fe4rguson went to bat, and, as it happened, nobody was standing near third. His eye noticed the void, and, turning to his players on the bench, he sharply inquired, “Are you all tired playing?” The hint was enough, and a player at once jumped up, went down near third and stood ready to coach any man who might come there. Yesterday Say reached first base and was compelled to call up a fellow-player to coach him. While Purcell was on base and Jim White at bat, Clapp and Smith stood within ten feet of the plate watching Jim White bat, but nobody was near first or third.
