Text	[reporting on the NL convention] It was decided that no League Club should be allowed to play on Sunday, nor should any member be allowed to play with other Clubs on that day. The penalty for a violation of this rule is expulsion of a Club by the League and of a player by his Club. Cincinnati Enquirer December 7, 1877 [reporting on the NL convention] A resolution was passed prohibiting games from being played on Sunday on any League grounds, or for the renting of such grounds for Sunday games. An exception was, however, made of the Cincinnati Grounds because they are alone of all the League grounds owned by the Club. So the Mohawk Browns and other local amateur clubs will have their Sunday games next year as usual. Cincinnati Enquirer December 17, 1877
