Text | Judge Seddon in an exhaustive opinion overruled the demurrer to the petition in the case of the two stockholders of the defunct Maroons against the League Base Ball Company and William Stromberg, its president. The plaintiffs charged Stromberg with the misappropriation of upward of $100,000 of the company's funds, his refusal to account for the same and an unauthorized disposition of the company's property—the franchise, players, etc., and asked for the appointment of a receiver, for the ousting of Stromberg and a new election to fill the vacancy. |
