Text | The question as to how many players should be included in the list of those who have played for the championship of the United States is, for the purposes of this paper, settled by refusing to recognize any service in, or games against, the Cincinnati Club. It has been the position of The Tribune from the first that the various and sundry Cincinnati Clubs have none of them held membership in the League, and there seems no reason why, if Cincinnati games are not to be counted in the general club record, they should affect personal averages.
