Text | When Hecker was in his prime as a pitcher he always took chances on the working of a double play when he was in a corner. Often when there were two men on bases and only one out, he gave the next batter his base on balls and then ran the risk of retiring the side on a double up; and he succeeded in disappointing many an opposing team by such head work. |
