Text | Murphy, the Philadelphia Club’s new pitcher, has a novel way of keeping base-runners on their bases. He is a right-handed pitcher, but when he gets a man on first base, he takes a position of a left-handed man, and by false motions forces the base-runner to hub the base; then, quick as thought, he turns completely around (to the left) using his right foot as a pivot, and delivers the ball.
