Text	Pitcher Stovey, just signed by Worcester, is the first colored man that ever played in the New England League. The Sporting Life June 6, 1888 Stovey is a great acquisition to the pitchers of the New England League, being the most like a ball player of any man I have seen in the points since Connie Murphy graduated.
