Text	[Chicago vs. Boston 7/18/1885] The harmony of the contest was principally marred by the constant “kicking” of the visiting team. They objected to eery close decision made in favor of the home team, and in one or two instances they were apparently justified in protesting against the umpire's decisions, but it should have been done in the proper manner. The rules do not admit of the players gathering around the umpire, as was the case in once instance, and attempting to induce him to change a decision.
