Text | The Central Park authorities have very properly limited the use of the Central Park grounds to the use of the clubs and nines connected with the public schools and academies of the metropolis. They propose by this to offer a sort of premium to boys to attend school who desire to enjoy the ball playing privileges of the park. Were they to throw the grounds open to all boys indiscriminately, the fields would be occupied all day long by gangs of idle youths. |
