Text | [advertisement] “The Decker Safety Catching Gloves” The Sporting Life March 20, 1889 Inventive genius is constantly at work improving and perfecting that now indispensable base ball implement, the glove. E. Harry Decker, the Philadelphia Club's new catcher, is the latest man to put an improved catcher's glove on the market, and from what we hear about it the Decker glove is really a first class article. The cuts in the advertisement in another column will give our readers an idea of how the glove is made. Mr. Decker has associated himself with Paul Bickley, of Chicago, and the two have started a glove manufactory at No. 68 Monroe street, Chicago, where they will be pleased to hear from their friends, the profession and the trade.
