Text | [Philadelphia vs. Athletic 4/15/1883] Birchall, Purcell, Ferguson and Bakiston dropped fly balls, and they all united in blaming it on a “high sky.” This is, the atmosphere was so clear that the ball appeared to be much higher than it really was, making it impossible to fairly judge it. |
