Text | That enterprising young manager of theatrical enterprises, Mr. Mack–Haverly’s right-hand business man–in his first venture in baseball management has done far better than several club managers who have had three times his experience in the business. When he took hold of the Clevelands the team had been selected–“neither wisely not too well”–and he had to make the best of the material ready laid out for his to work upon; and what he did was shown in the good work done by the Cleveland nine in the later months of the season. |
