Text | [Indianapolis vs. Chicago 5/2/1888] Anson got in a bunt in the third inning. He swung has bat as if to strike hard, but checked it. The ball, a fair one, struck the bat and bounded to Esterbrook, who picked it up and jumped on first base. Anson claimed he did not strike at the ball, but Valentine declared him out. |
