Text | MUTUAL INDIGNATION–The Color Line.–The Alexandria Gazette says: “On Saturday evening the Deaf and Dumb Base Ball Club, of Washington, came to this city according to appointment, to play a game with the Whitestone Club, of this city. The Washington men, however, had the bad taste to bring a negro as a member of their nine, whereupon the Whitestones very properly refused to play with them. The Washington party were very indignant, but not more so than the Whitestones, who regard the affair as an insult to them. |
