Text | [the Athletics seeing the sights in Cincinnati:] One of the places visited was the residence of Mr. Pendleton, who is looming up so prominently in connection with the Presidency. He was not at home, however, which was a disappointment to some of them. His excellent lady received them, and entertained them so agreeably that, should her husband be the choice of his party for the high office for which he is named, I am inclined to think one or two of the boys would poll for him in remembrance of his wife’s courtesy.
