Text | It was the intention of the financial backers of the Metropolitan Club to have procured a separate ground of their own; but the needed outlay was found to be so great that they finally decided to lease half of the Polo Grounds from the Metropolitan Exhibition Company, which they have done, and the two assiciated clubs will therefore play on adjoining fields, the Sixth-avenue ground being open to the public on match-days at twenty-five cents admission, while at the Fifth-avnue field the admission will be half a dollar. |
