This is the Jewish New Year, or “Good Yondof.” It is the great Jewish holiday, and as the Israelites are most ardent admirers of the game, one may look out for a big attendance. There will be extra street cars put on to-day to accommodate the big crowd expected. Cincinnati Commercial September 14, 1882

[Louisville vs. Cincinnati 9/15/1882] There were 3,412 people on the Cincinnati Base Ball Grounds yesterday to see a great game of ball. It was the largest crowd of spectators seen this season at a championship game save the Fourth of July afternoon. The grand stand was filled before 3 o’clock, and the ticket seller was instructed to quit selling tickets to that place. Every available seat was taken and a few put upon the ground.
