Text	The tariff question occupied the rest of the day and provoked prolonged and exciting discussion. Brooklyn, St. Louis and Cleveland led in the fight for the increase to fifty cents, while Louisville, the Athletics and Cincinnati were against it. Cincinnati wanted forty cents to rule, but the fifty-cents advocates won, though the Athletics were given the privilege of charging a quarter in case the Philadelphias did not increase their prices.
