Text	The great need of a new system of scoring for the game is generally recognized on all hands, and it is pleasant to be able to say that a new and improved method of keeping the essential points of the game has been devised by a Chicago gentleman of some experience in the game. The wants of the game in this direction are two-fold: First, a system of scoring on which can be based a reasonable calculation of a man’s efficiency, so that at the end of the season the tabulated record will show who is really the best man in the different fielding positions and at the bat, neither of which are shown by the present method. The second need is a union of all the principal daily papers in the cities where there are professional clubs upon an agreement to print the new form of scores.
