Text | It must be borne in mind by base ball players this season that a player, running from home to first base, is allowed to over-run his base without running the risk of being put out, provided he promptly returns to the base after over-running it; but should he attempt to make his second after over-running, then he loses his privilege of returning. The rule is confined to the first base, but it should have applied to all, and no doubt the Amateur Convention will amend it to that effect. |
