- 9 players to a team
- bases set at 30 yards
- pitching distance set at 45 feet
- 3 strikes and you’re out
- no advancing or scoring on a foul ball
1858 Rules
- Umpire allowed to call strikes on the batter
1860 Rules
- Batter's box introduced
1863 Rules
- Umpire allowed to call balls
1865 Rules
- Fair balls must be caught on the fly
- Foul balls can still be caught on the bound
