Description | The Central City Daily Register June 23, 1870 says the Stars have challenged the White Stocking Club of Denver for the Territorial championship. Same Aug. 31, 1870 mentions the Stars of the Rocky Mountain BBC of Central City (which may be this teams formal name). Same Sept. 18, 1870 has the Stars beating the Lilies of Black Hawk 42-28, yesterday on "Bobtail Hill." Gives a box score. Central City CO (1860 pop. about 600;1870 pop. about 2,400) is about 35 miles W of Denver. It was founded in 1860.
