| Comment | The Excelsior grounds are described by an "old timer" as being at the current (1906) corner of Harrison and Halsted, Washington and Sheldon, in front of the Bull's Head Tavern. See "Chicago Baseball in the 50's and 60's" Chicago Inter Ocean, May 27, 1906. An image of the Tavern is in the Chicago Tribune, Jan. 30, 1887.
