| Description | The Daily Missouri Republican, Sept. 27, 1867 reports that at the Douglas County Fair on the 26th, the base ball club of Omaha defeated that of Fort Calhoun 32-29. Louisa and Nash, "Growing in the River City..." Nebraska History 85 (2004) 148-155 says this club defeated the Fort Calhoun club 110-50 on May 9, 1867. Fort Calhoun is in Washington County, Nebraska, just north of Omaha. |
