Data | “Tut ball” was asserted to be the local name for rounders in the view of a Sheffield, Yorkshire, newspaper writer who was reviewing the current issue of an American children's magazine: “St. Nicholas is bright and fresh as ever—full of stories and adventures, and practical papers on sports. 'Bat, ball and diamond,' is an American elaboration of rounders, or (locally) 'tut ball' into a scientific game.” |
