Data | A newspaper writer worked the term “pise-ball” into a critical newspaper report of a football game between the Hunslet club of Leeds, West Yorkshire, and the Oldham club of Manchester. In an apparent putdown of the home club, he wrote: “Then again, the passing of the Hunslet backs resembled pise-ball more than anything else.” |
