| Data | “Baseball” was one of the amusements offered to members of the Norwich Seventh Ward Liberal Association at their annual outing to the large park in nearby Whitlingham. Accompanied by their wives and sweethearts, the party totaled more than 500, according to a local newspaper's coverage, which added, “On arriving at their destination the company found ample amusement provided for them in the form of sports, quoits, swings, baseball, &c.” |
