Data | “Base ball” was one of the games enjoyed at the annual treat for students of the Church Sunday School of Gorleston-on-Sea, a community on the Norfolk coast near Great Yarmouth. A newspaper reported that “Before and after an ample tea the children indulged to the full in cricket, base ball, swings, &c., until the shades of evening, and before separating hearty cheers were given for all those who had so generously contributed to the happiness of the young folks.” |
