Data | "Base-ball" was one of the pastimes enjoyed by members of the Wellington Square Chapel choir of Hastings, East Sussex, at their annual outing held at Little Park Farm in Battle, East Sussex. Battle is so named because it was the site of the Battle of Hastings. "A capital meat tea was provided, and was partaken in real pic-nic style on the grass. After tea various games were indulged in---cricket, base-ball, French-tag, &c." |
