| Data | “Base ball” was featured at the Sunday School Festival of Gamlingay, a village in southwestern Cambridgeshire near the Bedfordshire border. A newspaper reported that “The children ran races for articles of wearing apparel, and the elder ones indulged in various popular games, such as base ball, round tag, &c.” |
