Data | “Baseball” was among the entertainments enjoyed by children attending the Trinity Church Sunday School of Huntingdon (Cambridgeshire) and those from other schools in surrounding villages at a Sunday School Festival. A newspaper reported that “they dispersed to indulge in the games that had been provided for them in such variety; croquet and baseball parties in one place, cricketing in another, football, bat-and-trap, and swings such as delighted the hearts of the younger children, and not a few of the older ones.” |
