Data | “Base-ball” was one of the amusements offered to the boys and girls attending the Slough (Buckinghamshire) British Schools on a “pleasure excursion” to nearby Langley Park. According to a newspaper report, “upon their arrival at the park the children amused themselves by cricket, kiss-in-the-ring, base-ball, and other congenial sports, and were afterwards regaled with a bountiful supply of tea, cake, &c.” |
