Data | "Base-ball" was played at a Band of Hope meeting in Marlow, Buckinghamshire: "The committee arranged to give juveniles a treat, and the games of trap-ball, base-ball, cricket, swinging, &c. were indulged in until the tea and cake were spread on the grass, when nearly a hundred congregated, and all heartily enjoyed the repast." |
