Data | "Base-ball" was among the games played at the annual treat given to the Middle, Steeple, and East-cum-Botolph Claydon day and Sunday school scholars in Middle Claydon, Buckinghamshire: "The scholars, numbering about 250, met at the lodges and marched to the lawn, where various games including football, cricket, base-ball, swings, races, rowing on the lake, &c., were indulged in till about half-past four o'clock, when the children sat down to tea on the lawn. The repast being finished, the games resumed." |
