Data | “Baseball” was one of the games played by children attending the “Brethren” Sunday school of Maidenhead, Berkshire, on a half-day outing to the Burnham Beeches woodland in nearby Bucks. A newspaper reported that “About eighty children and friends started arriving in conveyances at about 1 o'clock, and arriving at the Beeches various games, including cricket, baseball, skipping, &c., were indulged in, after which tea was provided.” |
