Data | “Base ball” was played as part of the annual treat for boy and girl students of St. Lawrence's Sunday School in Reading, Berkshire: “The children, above 200 in number, assembled in a meadow adjoining the Forbury, where they amused themselves with cricket, base ball, and other recreations during the afternoon, and were afterwards assembled at the school room in the churchyard and were regaled with buns and tea.” |
