Description | The NY Knickerbockers originally played (c. 1842-43) at Madison Square. The next year they moved a mile northeast to the north slope of Murray Hill, between the railroad cut and Third Avenue (per Peverelly, 1866). The next year, felling their grounds threatened by development, they moved their games to Elysian Fields, Hoboken.
The Murry Hill house historical marker is at 37th St. and Park (4th) Ave. |
