Data | A newspaper reported that "bass ball" was played at an afternoon outing of more than 100 citizens and tradesmen of the town of Chesham in Buckinghamshire: "Cricketing commenced at about one o'clock, and from that time to the close of the day continued with little intermission. There were also several games, such as bat-and-trap, and bass ball, which occupied the attention of the majority of the ladies during the afternoon." |
