Description | Daniel, Baseball in Richmond, says that in Oct. 1866 the Pastimes played the National of DC before 4000 fans at the "fair grounds." Pastimes lost 76-19. President of the Pastimes was Alexander G. Babcock, a player on prewar NYC teams who had moved to VA and served as a Sergeant in the Confederate army. The Pastimes toured MD in Sept. 1867, playing the local teams. |

Win/Loss Records As Far As We Now Know
Warning: Users should not rely on a team's won-loss record as a reflection of its "standing" among all base ball clubs. Team schedules were not balanced, and a good record against mostly weak opponents does not signify a leading club.
