Description

"The Club will meet again to-day if the weather proves fine.  They are fixing up play grounds on the lot occupied by the Horse Growers Association, just west of the residence of Jas. McKay, Esq." (April 23, 1859 Waukegan Gazette)

James McKay was the Mayor of Waukegan 1863-65. His residence was at the corner of Jackson and Glen Rock Sts., about where Waukegan High School now stands. Plonien Park would be just west of there, and approximately where these grounds were.
