Description

The Rockford Weekly Register-Gazette, Sept. 1, 1866, reports the formation of a new Base Ball Club in Roscoe, to be named the Star. A D. Lawrence was elected president.

The Chicago Tribune, Sept. 6, 1867 reports that the Mutuals played the Star of Roscoe Sept. 5th in a baseball tournament in Beloit, beating the Stars 13 to 10. The Star that day also lost to the Phoenix of Belvidere, 31 to 26.
