Description

"Geneva, Illinois. A History of Its Times and Places" (1977) p. 49:

"The first uniformed team [in Geneva] was called the Rovers. It played every Saturday afternoon from April to September." Starts 1867. Members 14-16 years old. They played in what is today the Sansone Subdivision.

The Chicago Tribune, Oct. 2, 1875 reports that the Genevas of Geneva beat the Muldoons of Elgin 18 to 8 at the Kane County Fair.
