Description | The San Francisco Bulletin, Oct. 20, 1866 says the Occidentals of Oakland are to play the Rincon Club "of this city" in Clinton. Clinton is now a neighborhood of Oakland. The San Francisco Chronicle, Aug. 26, 1870, says the Rincon BBC of San Francisco beat the Haymakers of Brooklyn (then, an independent town, now, a neighborhood of Oakland) on the 22nd by one run. The New York Clipper, Jan. 7, 1871, gives the 1870 record of the Rincon BBC, said to be the champion junior club of the Pacific Coast. |
