The New York Clipper, Oct. 13, 1866 gives the box scores of the baseball games at the Sussex County Fair, played at Newton, NJ. The Randolph of Dover were defeated by the Passaic of Chatham 37-22 on Oct. 2, but beat the Star of Newton 56-27 on Oct. 3. The Newark Advertiser, Dec. 14, 1866, reports that the National Club of Morristown and the Randolph Club of Dover are two NJ teams applying for membership at the national convention in NYC. |
