Description | This park is described as being at the southern edge of town in 1866. Sam Marx and the Marx family (bankers) owner land here. It is described as on the Petersburg Turnpike, about a mile from Mayo's Bridge, and within a few hundred yards of the residence of Henry T. Drewry. Looking at the map, this would place it at around I-95 (the modern Petersburg Turnpike) and Maury Avenue. |
